The first time I traveled overseas for a gig was to see Suede at Butlins (iykyk) in 2016. The #1 song I wanted to hear was "He's Dead" because I'm obsessed with bootleg performances of that song from the '90s & I truly believe I manifested it that night. To the point that Brett Anderson said afterward, "felt like I was back in 1993 for a minute" Manifesting the songs you want to hear live is one of the very best feelings. Glad that it happened for you!
I, too, travelled to see The Cure this year but in Dublin. Surreal to experience a nighttime band in the gleam of the afternoon sun before the twilight came to the rescue. Poor Robert Smith fully exclaimed mid-show "I fucking hate the sunlight" with a smile. Also THANK YOU for that song rec - never heard Temple of Angels before and Tangled in Joy is incredible (fully levitating)!
bruh, so jelly. What a trip. Awesome!!! 😎 I have seen The Cure and Moz and Oasis here multiple times in SF, but I so wish I was available to go with my BFF and Oasis lover to the live ‘25 show last year across the pond.
And plainsong as an opener? I would have died, too!!
There is certainly an energy that happens and gets absorbed when communing with a bunch of happy strangers that makes you wanna give a damn for a couple of hours
