Monday Mixtape is another path towards music discovery, featuring people whose taste I admire answering a series of questions and prompts with songs (which might change from time to time).
Los Angeles native and Stüssy tribe member HANK has DJ’d in just about every environment you can think of and has traveled the world doing so. His label Kopa Records is a celebration of the early 2000’s West Coast house music movement. Last month he put out a fabulous EP with the Vancouver label Pacific Rhythm called Orbital Love. Imo it’s pretty perfect to put on while you walk for a long time with no destination and no objective, simply the desire to feel the pulsing joy of being alive in the world.
Hank is really one of the most talented DJs and producers I know. He cultivates an immaculate vibe, not just at the party but everywhere he goes, and he is always putting me on to music I would never find or know about myself, so I’m particularly excited for his Monday Mixtape:
